J Walk Terms of Use

J Walk (“the app”) is a free companion for Japanese interval walking. These terms are a contract between you and PI Innovations, LLC. Please read them, especially the Health & safety, Disclaimers, and Limitation of liability sections. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1 · The agreement

By downloading or using J Walk, you agree to these Terms of Use. You also agree to the terms of the store you downloaded it from — Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement or Google Play's Terms of Service — which govern your download and any in-app purchases. If those store terms conflict with these on a matter they control (such as payments or refunds), the store terms apply.

2 · License to use J Walk

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use J Walk on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these terms and the applicable store terms.

3 · Health & safety

J Walk is a general fitness and wellness tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

• Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program, particularly if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have any concern about your ability to exercise safely.
• You use J Walk at your own risk. Stay aware of your surroundings, watch for traffic, pedestrians, and hazards, and obey all local laws. Do not let the app distract you from walking safely.
• Stop immediately and seek medical help if you experience pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or any other distress.
• You are solely responsible for exercising within your limits and for your own safety while using the app.

4 · Tips (in-app purchases)

J Walk is free to use. It offers optional tips as in-app purchases, handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play under their terms and privacy policies. Tips are voluntary, unlock no features or content, and simply support ongoing development. Because purchases are processed by the stores, any refunds are handled by them (or as required by law) — not by us. See our Privacy Policy for how purchase data is handled.

5 · Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except to the extent the law expressly permits.
• Use the app unlawfully, or to infringe the rights of others.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or the systems it relies on.

6 · Intellectual property

J Walk — including its software, design, content, the “J Walk” name, and the PI Innovations name and mark — is owned by PI Innovations, LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms grant you no rights to our branding beyond what's needed to use the app normally.

7 · Disclaimers

J Walk is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its audio cues, background operation, or distance readout will function without interruption on every device or in every condition.

8 · Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PI Innovations, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any personal injury or loss arising out of or relating to your use of J Walk. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us through the app in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $10. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9 · Changes

We may modify the app or these terms at any time. When we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of J Walk after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.

10 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the store terms or mandatory local law provide otherwise.
